The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has launched an Artificial Intelligence–enabled Resilience Command Centre aimed at strengthening climate risk management research and disaster preparedness capabilities.
The centre will leverage artificial intelligence, data analytics and geospatial technologies to assess vulnerabilities arising from extreme weather events and long-term climate variability. It is expected to support evidence-based policymaking by generating predictive models and scenario analyses to evaluate potential environmental and socio-economic impacts.
Officials said the initiative seeks to integrate academic research with practical applications by collaborating with government departments, disaster management authorities and policy institutions.
