In association with Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA), the U S Consulate General in Chennai and Kochi-based think tank Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) are all set to organize a series of workshops and awareness-building events Kozhikode from October 22 to 24.
In an official statement, the organisers said the workshops are part of the ”America with Kerala” project, which was designed to share best practices from the United States on disaster preparedness and management with relevant agencies and stakeholders in Kerala, while giving an opportunity for the US experts to learn from Kerala’s resilience in managing disasters.
The ”America with Kerala” workshops were previously held in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. The third and the final workshop in Kozhikode will deliberate on the theme of “CommunityBased Disaster Risk Mitigation”, the statement added.
